The H 2/3 are cogwheel steam locomotives of the Rigi-Bahnen (RB). Due to the increase in traffic demand, they were procured from the then Vitznau-Rigi-Bahn (VRB) from 1913 to 1925 .

technology

Because larger fluctuations in the water level in the boiler were a major problem, the VRB standing boilers were procured in the initial phase. But because normal lying boilers are easier to clean, the new locomotives got them. However, due to the problems with the water fluctuations, the boiler and the structure were built at an angle so that it lies horizontally on slopes.

business

After the Second World War, they were often used for scheduled service operations when the electric railcars could not handle the traffic. After an overhaul between 1969 and 1971, the two remaining locomotives are regularly on the move with nostalgic trains on weekends between July and September.
