VS system

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

VS System is a superhero comic- style trading card game .

Upper Deck Entertainment launched the VS System in the US in 2003, initially as the Marvel TCG . It is based on the superheroes of the comics from the publishers Marvel and DC Comics . Strictly speaking, there are two trading card games ( Marvel TCG and DC Comics TCG ), which, however, have identical rules and whose cards can be mixed as desired due to the identical rules and favored by the uniform design of the card backs.

In contrast to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading card game , which accompanies a television series and is aimed primarily at children and young people, the VS. System the target group is noticeably older, which is also noticeable in the fact that tournaments are held for the latter, in which prize money of up to 10,000 US dollars is distributed.

A few developers of the VS System originally worked for Wizards of the Coast , a competitor to Upper Deck Entertainment, on the trading card game Magic: The Gathering . This probably explains why the VS system appears to some players in terms of rules and game mechanics as a further development of Magic.
