The Vaca Falls Railway was one of about 1926 to 1952 operated 24 km long narrow gauge - Forest Railway between Vaca Falls and the Chiquibui Forest on the Mountain Pine Ridge in Belize .

history

The Vaca Falls Railway, operated as a funicular and with Montania - Benzol locomotives manufactured in Nordhausen , was used to cut down mahogany trees. It was built near the Vaca Falls by the Kentucky Mengel Company in the mid-1920s. The line belonged to the Belize Estate and Produce Company Ltd., which operated it until 1952.

On the Morales family farm, in the bush near Che Chem Ha Cave on the Vaca Plateau in the Arenal area, south of Benque Viejo del Carmen, there are still old tracks, locomotives and parts that were manufactured in Alabama in 1926 were.
