Vahap Polat

Vahap Polat (born 1973 in Turkey ) is a freelance journalist, publicist and consultant specializing in political Islam, domestic political development and the history of Turkey.

Polat graduated from the military high school and attended the Army Academy in Ankara. He then studied political science at the University of Salzburg from 2000 and graduated in 2006. After a research stay at the Boğaziçi University in Istanbul, he wrote his dissertation between 2008 and 2012 at the University of Salzburg.

He worked as an analyst at the International Institute for Liberal Politics Vienna. Vahap Polat was active in Vienna as a voluntary representative of the Euro-Asian Foundation of Turkey. Together with the political education center in Leipzig, he organized study trips a. a. with a focus on Turkish foreign policy, political Islam, Turkey - EU relations.

As a journalist, Polat writes articles for the Rhein-Zeitung.
