Valentian
Valentian , also Valentinian, (* around 480; † January 7, 548 in Chur ) was Bishop of Chur .
Valentian was buried on January 12, 548 in the crypt of the St. Luzi Church in Chur. His nephew Paulinius, presumably his successor in the episcopate, had a grave slab placed over his grave with the reference to his “charity towards refugees, needy people and prisoners”. He is said to have expanded the oratory founded by Lucius von Chur into a monastery.
Valentian is venerated as a saint in the Diocese of Chur (September 9th).
