Valerijus Makūnas

Valerijus Makūnas (born October 29, 1955 in Zapyškis , Kaunas district ) is a Lithuanian politician.

Life

From 1963 to 1972 he studied in Zapyškis and after graduating from high school from 1972 to 1974 in Kačerginė he studied from 1974 to 1977 at the Lietuvos kūno kultūros institutas . From 1977 to 1979 he worked in Noreikiškės . From 1980 to 1986 he was education inspector in Kaunas district and then school director. Since 2007 he has been the mayor of Kaunas Rajong Municipality .

Since 2001 he has been a member of the Lietuvos socialdemokratų partija . From 2015 he was deputy party chairman of the LSDP , deputy of Algirdas Butkevičius .
