Variable-Data Intelligent PostScript Printware is a page description language developed by Xerox . The language is based on PostScript and enables the separation between variable and fixed components of a page to be printed. The advantage is a lower data volume with digital printing . To use VIPP, the Raster Image Processor (RIP) must be able to interpret VIPP.

It is wrong to use the term “Variable Input Production Print”.
