Varzesch-e Pahlavani ( Persian ورزش پهلوانی), also Varzesch-e Bastani (ورزش باستانی), or Pahlavani for short , is originally an Iranian physical exercise, especially through koschti ( wrestling ) and represents an ancient martial art whose origins can be traced back to ancient Persia.

As a traditional sports facility, the institution of Zurchaneh 'House of Strength' serves as a place for training and exercise. Exercises in Zurchanehs were originally used to prepare for combat situations. The tradition of Zurchaneh , in which traditional Persian strength sports are practiced, is widespread in Azerbaijan , Iraq , Turkey , Afghanistan and some other countries , in addition to Iran .
