Vasco de Lima Couto

Vasco de Lima Couto (born November 26, 1923 in Porto , † March 10, 1980 in Lisbon ) was a Portuguese poet and actor.

Career

He made his stage debut on March 27, 1947. On March 13, 1951, he joined the theater company of Amélia Rey Colaço and Robles Monteiro . He also worked for the Teatro Experimental do Porto, the Teatro da Câmara - Estufa Fria, the Teatro da Trindade and the Teatro Experimental de Lisboa. He then went to Angola, where he worked for the radio. After returning to Portugal in 1974, he worked for the Teatro da Cornucópia and the company of Maria Matos .

Parallel to his work at the theater, he published numerous poems interpreted by singers such as Amália Rodrigues , Carlos do Carmo , Lenita Gentil and Vasco Rafael .

In 1981 the Casa Museu Vasco de Lima Couto was opened in Constância , dedicated to the life and work of the poet.
