Vaugirard (Seine)
Vaugirard is a former French municipality with a last 26,223 inhabitants (as of 1856). Together with Grenelle, it has formed the 15th arrondissement of Paris since 1860 .
history
In the 13th century the area around Vaugirard was inhabited by monks. The first church was built there in 1342, and in 1846 the town council decided to build a second, where the first mass was held on May 28, 1853. The old church was demolished.
On January 1, 1860, the parish was officially incorporated into Paris.
