Vazul
Vazul or Vászoly (sometimes also Wacilo , deu : Vasul, Greek : Basilios ) was a Hungarian prince in the 11th century, son of Prince Mihail, grandson of Grand Duke Taksony .
Very little is known about his life. His son, Wancel, or Wancil, was cousin of Stephen I. As such, he was entitled to the Hungarian throne after Prince Emmerich's death . In order to prevent Vazul, who, according to tradition, led a desolate life and was a heathen, from actually becoming king of Hungary, Stephan I had him arrested and blinded. However, the Bavarian Queen, Stephen I's wife, Gisela , was later accused of this act. Vazul's sons were driven from the country.
family
Vazul had three sons: Andreas , Béla and Levente, two of whom later became kings of Hungary.
