Vena circumflexa ilium superficialis

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The vena circumflexa ilium superficialis (Latin, literally "the superficial arched vein of the iliac bone") is one of the five veins that open into the venous star , which is located in the trigonum femorale . It runs in an arc around the outside of the iliac bone. It anastomoses with the superficial circumflex ilium vein, which arises from the femoral vein.

There is also the deep circumflex ilium vein . This runs parallel along the inside of the iliac bone and anastomoses with the deep circumflex ilium vein, which also arises from the femoral vein.
