Leg triangle
A thigh triangle ( Latin: Trigonum femorale , Scarpa triangle after Antonio Scarpa ) is a triangular area on the inside of the thigh immediately below the groin . In the thigh triangle run directly under the skin and thigh fascia:
- Femoral artery and its proximal branches
 - Femoral vein
 - Femoral nerve
 - Saphenous nerve

The limits of the leg triangle in humans are :
- proximal: inguinal ligament ( ligamentum inguinale )
 - lateral: sartorius muscle
 - medial: adductor longus muscle
 - dorsal (floor): Musculus iliopsoas and Musculus pectineus

In the quadruped mammals it is limited by:
- above: inguinal ligament ( ligamentum inguinale )
 - cranial: sartorius muscle
 - caudal: pectineus muscle

The thigh gap continues from the thigh triangle as a vascular-nerve-street.
