Ventricle

The technical term ventricle (from Latin ventriculus "small belly") is used in medicine for various parts of the organs that form a cavity = chamber / bulge:

  • Ventriculus cordis = right and left ventricle
  • Ventriculus cerebri = cerebral chamber or cerebral ventricle
    • Lateral ventricle
    • Ventriculus tertius
    • Ventriculus quartus
  • Ventriculus laryngis = lateral bulge of the larynx between the pocket and vocal folds
