Vera (TV show)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Vera was a talk show of the ORF . It was moderated by the three-time Romy Prize winner Vera Russwurm and first broadcast on March 23, 1995. From 1995 to 2005, the presenter invited prominent or interesting people to the ORF-2 studio every Thursday evening to talk about exciting, funny or - most often - tragic events. Popular topics were the fates of people who survived a disaster or lost someone in a tragedy. The episode in which the mother of the "letter bomber" Franz Fuchs burst into tears in front of the cameras became famous.

Once a year there was a compilation of particularly interesting episodes from the past twelve months as a special broadcast: the “Vera - People of the Year” gala. The talk show was produced by Hofpower TV Produktionen, the company of Russwurm's husband Peter Hofbauer .

Since September 2019, Russwurm has also been hosting a program with the same title and a similar concept on ORF.
