Vera Baboun
Vera Baboun (* 1964 ) is a Palestinian politician and was Mayor of Bethlehem from 2012 to 2017 .
Baboun is the first female mayor of Bethlehem. She was previously Rector of the Roman Catholic High School Beit Sahour and Professor of English Literature at Bethlehem University . She is an Arab Christian and the mother of five children.
