Association of Austrian Filmproducers

The Association of Austrian Filmproducers (AAFP), the association of Austrian film producers, is the largest Austrian interest group for film production companies. She advocates the diversity of Austrian filmmaking and the most varied types of films.

It was founded on February 3, 1971 as the Association of Austrian Film and TV Film Producers .

Board members: Gabriele Kranzelbinder , Axl Newrkla, Heinrich Ambrosch , Michael Kitzberger, Franz Novotny , Manfred Studnitzka, Antonin Svoboda, John Lüftner, Erich Lackner (co-opted) and J. Rosenberger (co-opted).

Goals and tasks of the AAFP according to its own definition:

  • Strengthening Austria as a film location
  • Strengthening the production economy
  • public: increase in federal funding; Promotion of the development and establishment of contemporary distribution channels, appropriate funding volumes from the federal states
  • private: content delivery / media flat rate for the distribution of audiovisual content to finance content production, to develop new formats, forms of distribution and technical retrofitting
