Heinrich Ambrosch
Heinrich Ambrosch (born January 21, 1966 in Vienna ) is an Austrian television producer , managing partner of SATEL Film and member of the board of the Association of Austrian Film Producers (AAFP).
Life
Heinrich Ambrosch was born in Vienna in 1966, where he grew up and also graduated. He initially studied architecture at the Vienna University of Technology (6 semesters), and later completed the university course for advertising and sales at the Vienna University of Economics and Business . His brother Martin Ambrosch also works as a screenwriter in the film business .
From 1989 Ambrosch worked initially as a freelancer for the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF) in the entertainment, culture, television film, planning and coordination departments, later as the editor in charge of the fiction program, and as a dramaturge, story developer and screenwriter. From 2000 to 2005 he was the Austrian representative on the Board of Management at EURIMAGES . He studied at the New York Film Academy and between 2004 and 2009 taught himself at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (film academy, European film initiatives) and at Danube University Krems (TV and film production).
Heinrich Ambrosch has been the managing partner of SATEL Film since January 2007. In his function as a producer he is u. a. for SOKO Donau / Vienna , “Brecht”, Die Toten von Salzburg , or Kottan determined: Rien ne va plus responsible.
The first part of his TV crime series Die Toten von Salzburg was awarded the ROMY Academy Prize in 2017 in the categories “Best TV Film” and “Best Director TV Film” . Even before that, Heinrich Ambrosch had won the most important Austrian film award twice (Best Producer 2008 - SOKO Donau , Best Program Idea 2006 - 8x45 Mystery).
In 2017, he shot the miniseries A Fortunate Man with Danish Oscar winner Bille August ( The Haunted House , Miss Smilla's Feeling for Snow ) .
Ambrosch produced the eight-part thriller series Freud for Wiener Satel Film, in coproduction with Munich-based Bavaria Fiction , with the participation of ORF and Netflix . The premiere was at the Berlinale 2020 .
