Association of Protestant Libraries

The German Association of Evangelical Libraries eV (DVEB) is the central office of the Evangelical Church in Germany for library and book work. The association has eleven member associations that advise 1,500 public church libraries . The task of the association is to promote the Protestant book system, to present it to the public and to offer training as library assistant (in the church service). Every year since 1979, DVEB has awarded the Evangelical Book Prize for works with a Christian-ethical attitude. In 2010 the association was renamed Das Evangelische Literaturportal eV Association for library work and reading promotion .

The chairman of the board is Bishop Ralf Meister .
