The Association of Private Builders e. V. ( VPB ) is Germany's largest and oldest association of private builders , buyers and modernizers, based in Berlin and with a nationwide network of regional offices.

The association represents the interests of non-commercial, owner-occupier or renting owners of residential real estate , including condominiums, single- and two-family houses and multi-family houses. It offers product-neutral expert advice and publishes advice . The association's original and best-known service is construction and contract control.

In addition, the VPB is as qualified entities for the submission of class actions in unfair Conditions for Injunction Act entered (UKlaG) and is entitled hearing at a federal accredited.

Anyone who is not commercially involved in the construction of buildings can become a member of the VPB.

The VPB is a member of the working group for contemporary building

The Association of Private Builders is one of the 78 selected associations in Germany that are allowed to carry out a model declaratory action .
