The Association of Chambers of Agriculture (VLK) is a specialist society that sees itself as a link between the German Chambers of Agriculture and is also affiliated with the German Agricultural Society and the Bavarian Farmers' Association . Any Chamber of Agriculture or any other professional institution with the same task can be a member of the VLK. The VLK is a member of the Central Committee of German Agriculture and works there closely with the other agricultural associations.
history
The Association of Chambers of Agriculture was first entered in the register of associations in Berlin in 1924, during the Third Reich the association was brought into line and re-established in 1949.
Tasks and structure
The VLK coordinates and moderates the cooperation of members and agricultural administrations in federal states without chambers of agriculture through its specialist bodies in committees and working groups.
The VLK is also the link between the federal ministries and the chambers of agriculture, supports communication and professional exchange and issues opinions on draft legislation.
Internationally, the VLK is in regular contact with the European chambers of agriculture and the committee of professional agricultural organizations of the European Union COPA-COGECA .
