Association of municipal waste management and city cleaning

The association of municipal waste management and city cleaning in the association of municipal companies e. V. (VKS im VKU) is a municipal specialist and interest group for waste management , street cleaning and winter services in Germany .

Founded in 1912, it existed as an independent association until 2003. After merging with the Association of Municipal Companies (VKU), the Association of Municipal Waste Management and City Cleaning was initially a legally dependent, but autonomous professional association in the Association of Municipal Companies e. V. organized. Since a restructuring in 2011, the waste management and city cleaning division VKS has been operating as a department of the Association of Municipal Companies. The 430 full members (status: 2010) include municipal businesses and companies in various organizational forms, cities, municipalities, special-purpose associations and districts .

The tasks of the Waste Management and City Cleaning VKS division are: advising and informing members, promoting the exchange of experiences as well as training and further education and, finally, representing the interests of the EU, federal and state governments.
