Honored chemical worker of the German Democratic Republic

The honorary title of Honored Chemical Worker of the German Democratic Republic was a state award of the German Democratic Republic (GDR), which was awarded in the form of a medal. It was donated on January 30, 1975 and could be awarded for outstanding achievements in the chemical industry. Especially here for special merits, initiatives, rationalization, intensification and for many years of exemplary commitment. The maximum number of awards was limited to 45 carriers annually.

Appearance

The gilded medal with a diameter of 30 mm shows on its obverse the stylized representation of a head of a chemical worker looking to the right from the observer, next to this a chemical plant. Below that the two-line inscription: MERIT / CHEMICAL WORKER . A quarter-circle laurel branch can be seen under the lettering. All images mentioned are embossed. The reverse of the medal shows the GDR's national coat of arms.

Carrying method

The medal was worn on a pentagonal clasp on the upper left side of the chest, which has the basic color yellow. Two 3 mm wide pale red side strips are woven into the ribbon and are 3 mm from the edges.
