Appearance and wearing style

The gold-plated medal with a diameter of 35 mm shows the golden inscription in the center of its obverse : MERIT / MITARBEITER / DES / FINANZWESENS / DER DDR on a blue background. The whole thing is enclosed by two oversized laurel branches placed on the edge of the medal, which are shown twisted at the bottom and bent open at the top. The reverse of the medal, on the other hand, showed the GDR's national coat of arms. The medal was worn on the upper left side of the chest on a white covered clasp, which is closed on both sides by a dark blue hem. A black, red and gold central stripe is woven horizontally into the ribbon itself, in the middle of which there is a miniature of a 10 mm gold state coat of arms of the GDR. The interim clasp was of the same quality and also showed the 10 mm gold miniature of the GDR's national coat of arms.
