Association of Swiss Gymnasium Teachers
The Association of Swiss Gymnasium Teachers (VSG) is a Swiss association based in Bern. The VSG, founded in 1860, is part of the umbrella association of Swiss teachers . It consists of individual members and collective members. Individual members are the individual teachers who are also members of one of the cantonal associations and / or professional associations. The collective members are the cantonal associations and professional associations. According to its own information, the VSG has over 4000 members. The VSG is managed by a central board. Former presidents are Helen Wider, Hans Peter Dreyer, David Wintgens and Carole Sierro (2014–2019). Lucius Hartmann has been President since 2019. The organ of the VSG is the magazine Gymnasium Helveticum .
purpose
According to the statutes, the purpose of the VSG is as follows: It safeguards the professional and material interests of the members, deals with the training of teachers in general schools at upper secondary level, promotes the professional and pedagogical training of its members, represents the position of its members in educational issues and participates in the development of the secondary school system.
