Association of Alternative Investments

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Association of Alternative Investments (VAI) represents the interests of providers of alternative investments on the Austrian capital market . The association was founded in 2003.

Your task is to make the Alternative Investments (AI) asset class in Austria sustainably attractive and to advertise it. Furthermore, through targeted lobbying and with demands on legislators and supervisory authorities, the VAI is committed to making the "AI location Austria" a prime location. At the same time, work is being done to increase the level of investor protection, especially for private investors.

The VAI contributed to the recognition of hedge fund indices in the UCITS Directive . On July 18, 2007, the Committee of European Securities Regulators confirmed that it would include hedge funds in investment funds for the first time . Alternative investments therefore also fall under the existing UCITS directive for investment funds.
