Condensing unit

In refrigeration and air conditioning technology, a component of a refrigeration machine is referred to as a condensing unit. A condensing unit usually consists of:

  • Compressor (s)
  • Condenser ( capacitor )
  • Refrigerant tank (collector)
  • Start-up and protective circuit for the compressor
  • Fan ( fan ) for condenser
  • Filter drier

and possibly from other components.

All components are mounted on a common frame and selected to match the compressor size. This simplifies the design and installation of the refrigeration machine, since most of the components do not have to be ordered separately. On the other hand, the same unit can often be used for several purposes, e.g. B. Room air conditioning / cooling of liquids. For this purpose, a suitable heat exchanger is installed on the "cold side" of the refrigeration machine.
