Remarks

The Schnellpolka was composed for the industrial societies' carnival ball and was premiered on the occasion of this event in the Vienna Hofburg. With this work, the composer is setting a musical monument for the railway. In particular, it is about the amusement trains, which have become increasingly popular due to the emerging tourism. In addition to the musical processing of this topic, Strauss also paid homage with the work to the railway companies, which were part of the industrial society and were thus addressed directly at the aforementioned ball.

The playing time on the CD listed under individual records is 2 minutes and 53 seconds. This time can vary somewhat depending on the conductor's musical conception.
