Traffic econometrics

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Verkehrsökonometrie is a branch of Ökonometrie or Transport Economics , which transport processes by means of mathematical methods, statistical data and transport and economic theoretical models describing quantitatively. Tasks: Analysis of the traffic system (descriptive work), model development, predictions about possible traffic developments ( prognostic work). Transport econometrics is closely related to operations research , although the statistical determination of model parameters is not the main focus in transport econometrics. Working topics and models:

  • Traffic matrix (also transport matrix ), model for describing traffic systems , v. a. as a traffic network matrix and traffic flow matrix.
  • Transport econometric integration model (input-output model).
  • Traffic demand models and models for traffic process simulation.
