Traffic Police Service of Lithuania
The Traffic Police Service of Lithuania (lit. Lietuvos kelių policijos tarnyba ) is a specialized police organization of the Police in Lithuania . The founder is the Lithuanian General Police Commissioner, Head of Police Department at the Ministry of Interior of Lithuania . The traffic police service represents the state police at the traffic safety system offices. The institution was established in 1999. Before that there was Valstybinės automobilių inspekcijos valdyba .

- Road safety strategy development and monitoring of the implementation of the strategy, coordination of controls;
- Determination of measures to improve road safety;
- Prevention of traffic accidents and traffic offenses;
- Prevention of traffic control and enforcement of public order on the roads;
- Accompanying and escorting the government and the official delegations;
- Crime prevention
- Planning and execution of special police operations throughout the territory of the Republic of Lithuania;
- Organization and implementation of corruption prevention
