Connection point

A connection point is a node in the traffic network at which a transition takes place between vehicles of one traffic system or two different traffic systems. For example, an airport is a (cross-system) point of connection, since it is possible to change between a car and an airplane.

The aim of traffic planning is to design connection points in such a way that the overall traffic system can be optimally integrated with the least possible resistance (usually short transfer times and short transfer routes) for users and operators.
