The publisher E. Dorner is an Austrian publisher . He sells school books , learning aids and learning software . Today the publishing house belongs to the Westermann Group based in Braunschweig .

history

The publishing house was founded in Vienna in 1988 as a limited liability company and initially managed by Heinz K. Hännl, Waldemar Pesendorfer and Elisabeth Zerlauth. From the beginning, it was consistently geared towards the development and production of contemporary educational media.

In 2003, the Vienna subsidiary of Westermann Gruppe Georg Westermann Verlagsgesellschaft mbH, founded in 1973, was integrated into the E. Dorner publishing house and expanded the publisher's product range with its geography and cartography sector. At the same time Elisabeth Zerlauth took over the sole management. As a result, the publishers E. Dorner and Jugend & Volk , which have been merged under the umbrella of westermann wien since 2012, have continuously developed into one of the largest educational media providers in Austria , which addresses almost all subjects , school levels and types of school with its range .

Since January 1, 2016, the previous Managing Director of Jugend & Volk, Iris Blatterer, has also headed the E. Dorner publishing house. Elisabeth Zerlauth left the company on December 31, 2015.
