Mediation Office (Liechtenstein)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The agency's office was an existing office in every municipality in the Principality of Liechtenstein .

Since 1915, every municipality had a mediator group, which included the official seat of the mediator and his deputy. Mediators and deputy mediators were elected for three years in accordance with the law of December 12, 1915 on the agency's offices by a municipal election with an absolute majority.

tasks

The mediator's task was ostensibly to arbitrate and mediate. This happened in the context of a mediation negotiation, which dealt with all civil legal disputes, or which had to take place in the case of defamation in the context of an atonement negotiation. The mediation offices therefore had tasks similar to those of the justices of the peace in Switzerland.

Other tasks of the intermediaries and their deputies included the execution of notarial certifications, such as purchase contracts, agreements, company signature declarations, signatures or powers of attorney.

abolition

With the law of December 4, 2014, the agency's offices were abolished on July 1, 2015. Because the mediation offices were less and less able to relieve the district court, the government proposed a law revision in February 2014. The overwhelming majority of the consultation participants, however, spoke out in favor of abolishing the agency's offices. For this reason, the government submitted an application to the state parliament in July 2014 to revoke the agency's office.
