Interrogation room

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

An interrogation room is a room used to conduct interrogations by investigative authorities .

Design and furnishing

An interrogation room should be designed to be neutral and free of distraction. It must be possible to conduct interrogations there without disruption. If possible, the sitting position of the interviewee should be chosen so that he does not have a view of a window. The lighting must enable the interrogator to see non-verbal statements made by the interrogator. Only what is absolutely necessary should be available as furniture, including the facility for recording the interrogation. Existing objects should be as unsuitable as possible as a cutting weapon , stabbing weapon or other weapon . The person to be questioned must not be able to leave the room uncontrolled.

The interrogator sits 1.5 to 2 meters away from the interrogator. There must be no barrier between the two. A second investigator sits outside the field of vision of the interrogator.

According to these requirements, the size and the cut of the room result.
