Please note the note on the applicable legal version.

The ordinance on additional benefits in hardship cases according to the Federal Training Assistance Act (HärtV) is a statutory ordinance of the German federal government . The ordinance regulates the assumption of the costs incurred as part of training in a boarding school and the assumption of the costs of accommodation.

A reimbursement of costs is possible according to § 14a BAföG if it is necessary to achieve the training goal, e.g. B. For residents of the North Frisian Islands who can only complete a high school career by placing them in a boarding school on the mainland ( Lower Saxony boarding school Esens ).

In the case of accommodation in a boarding school, higher costs than the maximum rates of BAföG can be covered. Accommodation costs will be covered if this is necessary to avoid undue hardship, e.g. B. if the parents are in need.
