The ordinance on the safety of seafaring in the Federal Republic of Germany is a statutory ordinance that applies to all German sea waterways and German seagoing vessels under flag law. Bundeswehr ships are excluded. In terms of maritime safety, it regulates the obligation to rescue at sea , what to do in the event of a collision, the reporting of significant events and wrecks, as well as special behavior in terms of international seafaring.
