Distribution roller

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A distribution roller is a plastic-coated roller in the inking unit of a printing machine .

Distribution rollers run in direct contact with rubber-covered rollers to transfer printing ink. The distribution rollers also move in an oscillating manner (slight sideways movement to the left and right). This enables an even distribution and smooth transition in the color guide.

The ink is in spite of these naming in the actual sense not rubbed ( trituration ).
