Transfer car
A transfer carriage (VW) (engl. Transfer carriage ) is a floor-bound transport carriage on rails, which is widely used in pre-storage used. It can be integrated in the storage section as well as in the retrieval section. With a shuttle car, large distances can be overcome faster and more cost-effectively than is possible with roller conveyors or chain conveyors.
The movement takes place in the following two axes:
- x = longitudinal aisle direction (drive unit)
- z = transverse aisle direction (load handling unit)
mechanics
This consists of:
- the chassis with four wheels, which are guided on two rails. The lateral guidance also takes place via this rail by means of lateral guide rollers. The drive takes place directly on a travel axis with an accompanying motor or via a toothed belt with a stationary motor.
- the load handling device (LAM), which is mounted on the chassis and takes over the picking up or delivery of the goods.
