Vert Dider

Vert Dider is an online non-profit project. It deals with the creation of popular science content for the Russian-speaking audience.

history

The project was founded in July 2013. It is entirely by voluntary volunteer operated and funded primarily through the funds provided by foundations or private donors. The project focus is on the translation and dubbing of the videos with popular scientific content. More than 1000 videos (including videos from educational channels, lectures, debates and documentaries) were published on the official project platform in the social network Vkontakte .

On January 19, 2016, the cooperation with the Russian subsidiary BuzzFeed Media Company started .

In 2017 - together with the other scientific project SciOne - the following people were interviewed: Walter Lewin , Robert Sapolsky , Lawrence Krauss , Richard Dawkins and James Watson .

The project is a permanent information partner of the Harry Houdini Foundation. This has announced a prize for those who provide scientific evidence of paranormal abilities. The prize money is 1,000,000 rubles (about 15,000 euros ).

Translation of the courses and lectures

In October 2015, the translation of Richard Feynman's “Messenger Lectures” began . The work was successfully completed in July 2017. The entire lecture course in Russian has been published online and is open to everyone.

In July 2016 - together with JavaRush - the translation of the CS50 computer course began . In April 2017 it was announced that the work had been successfully completed.

The work on the translation of the lecture course of the American neuroendocrinologist Robert Sapolsky, "Biologie des Menschen Behavior" ( English "Human Behavioral Biology") is currently (as of 2018 ). Lecture No. 15 was published in April.

Cooperation with educational channels

Prizes and awards

In 2015, the association was nominated as the “Best Online Science Project” for an award “For Loyalty to Science” initiated by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation .
