Defense case

A state of defense or state of defense means :

• generally the attack from outside, see national defense
• sometimes attacking an ally, see collective defense
• In individual countries, the status regulated by national law in the event of an imminent or ongoing attack with armed violence from outside, specifically in:
  • of the Federal Republic of Germany, see case of defense (Germany)
  • of the former German Democratic Republic, see state of defense (GDR)
