Víctor Caballero (born August 26, 1960 ) is a retired Paraguayan tennis player .

Life

Caballero represented his country in the 1983 Davis Cup . In the game of the world group Paraguay won against the more highly rated Czechoslovaks , who had competed with Ivan Lendl and Tomáš Šmíd . Caballero played in the last singles after Paraguay's victory was already certain and clearly lost to Jaroslav Navrátil . This was his only appearance in the Davis Cup.

In 1988 Caballero competed in singles and doubles for Paraguay at the 1988 Summer Olympics . In both games he was eliminated in the first round; in the singles against the Indian Zeeshan Ali as well as on the side of Hugo Chapacú against the doubles pairing from Zimbabwe .

He reached his highest ranking in the tennis world rankings in 1982 with position 662 in singles.
