Long dolmen with capstone of a chamber

The Videdysse in Horserød Hegn (Gurreskov) is located west of Helsingør on the island of Zealand in Denmark . There are several plants with this name (e.g. Søster-Svenstrup Videdysse and Videdysse near Roskilde) in Denmark.

description

The long dysse of the funnel beaker culture (TBK) from the Neolithic Age has a 15 × 8 m large barren bed that contains two dolmens as transverse or longitudinal chambers. One with an overlying, the other (a recessed ancient dolmen ) with four supporting stones and unrolled capstone. Eighteen stones have also been preserved, about half of the original setting, seven of which are upright.

To the west of the Videdysse are the remains of another system from the same period, where seven curbs have been preserved. A few hundred meters to the west, also on Risbyvej, there is another well-preserved barren bed of 14.5 × 8.7 m. Here are a dozen of the original curbs, most of which were overturned, preserved. This Langdysse also has two intact dolmens, which are also missing a capstone. The facilities have been protected since 1942.

The archaeologist Vilhelm Boye toured the region in 1884.
