Vienna Environmental Research Accelerator

The Vienna Environmental Research Accelerator ( VERA ) is a particle accelerator from the University of Vienna . The main field of activity is accelerator mass spectrometry .

It is located in the building at Währinger Strasse 17 in Alsergrund , the nuclear physics site near the medical university.

Technical

VERA is a 3- MV - Pelletron - Tandem Accelerator . He has two SNICs - ion sources ( Source of Negative Ions by Cesium Sputtering ). The magnets are also designed for use with heavy elements.
