Vierherr

Vierherr is a name for a member of a historical authority who exercised the quadrilateral office and usually consisted of four people. The four lords dealt in general with minor offenses by the subjects or with parts of the administration . The four men were usually elected for one year. The term of office was extended in exceptional cases. A long time ago, twelve quartet were elected annually in Saxony .
