Vijay Hazare Trophy 2019/20
The Vijay Hazare Trophy 2019/20 was the 18th edition of the National List-A cricket - competition in India . The competition was held between September 24th and October 25th, 2019 between 38 Indian first-class teams. In the final, Karnataka was able to prevail against Tamil Nadu with 60 runs (VJD method) .
format
The previous 28 first-class teams were divided into three groups of nine and ten teams respectively. Ten new teams were sorted into a plate group. In these groups, each team played each other once and received four points for every win and two points for every draw or no result . Five teams from groups A and B, as well as two from group C and the winners of the plate group qualified for the quarter-finals, where the winner of the Vijay Hazare Trophy was then played in neutral stadiums in the knockout system. The bottom of the group in Groups A and B were relegated and will be replaced by the first two in Group C in the coming season. The bottom of the group in Group C will be relegated to the Plate Group and will be replaced by the first placed.
