Viking Prince

Viking Prince (dt. Viking Prince ) is the title of a series of comic publications since 1956 American US from the publisher DC Comics are published.

The stories of the Viking Prince series are about the adventures of a medieval Viking and represent a mixture of historical and adventure comics in connection with fantastic elements.

Publications under the Viking Prince title

The first Viking Prince story appeared in 1955 in issue # 1 of The Brave and the Bold series . The author of this story - and the creator of the title character of the Viking Prince and the storyline of the series - was the writer Robert Kanigher , who also wrote the remaining twenty-five Viking Prince stories that make up the 26th issue of The Brave and the Bold in July 1959 in that series published. Most of these stories were drawn by the artist Joe Kubert .

Between April and July 1982 a new four-part Viking Prince story ("Frozen hell for a Viking") appeared as a back-up story in the back of the Arak series , Son of Thunder . This story was again from Kanigher and illustrated by Jan Duursema.

Viking Prince is about the adventures of a Viking named Jon in Scandinavia in the 10th century. Recurring plot elements are Jon's journeys through the coastal waters of the Scandinavian countries, warlike entanglements of various kinds and, above all, disputes with his archenemy, the gloomy Prince Thorvald.
