Vilija Nausėdaitė

Vilija Nausėdaitė (born December 23, 1979 in Vilnius ) is a Lithuanian business lawyer and lecturer at MRU University . She was the head of the Lithuanian Securities Commission .

Life

Vilija Nausėdaitė graduated from the Law Faculty of Vilnius University (1997-2000) and became a qualified lawyer. Already during her studies she worked as a legal assistant in a law firm (August to December 2000). From 2007 to 2009 she completed an Executive MBA at the Baltic Management Institute (BMI) in Vilnius.

From 2001 to 2003 she was senior specialist in the Law and Supervision Department of the Lithuanian Securities Commission, then (2003 to 2005) she headed the Investment Management Department . In 2005 she became Deputy Head of the Commission and Director of the Legal and Supervision Department (January 2005 to July 2005). From October 10, 2006 to November 6, 2009, she was chairman of the Lithuanian Securities Commission and then an associate partner of the Lithuanian law firm "Sutkienė, Pilkauskas ir partneriai". Since November 2, 2010 she has been the director of the legal department of the largest Lithuanian bank SEB .

She also teaches at the Banking and Investment Chair in the Faculty of Economics and Financial Management at MRU University.

Vilija Nausėdaitė speaks Lithuanian, Russian, English and French.
