Viljo Vellonen (March 24, 1920 - February 5, 1995 ) was a Finnish cross-country skier .

Vellonen, who started for the Savonlinnan Hiihtoseuran, won the 18 km run at the Lahti Ski Games and at the Svenska Skidspelen in 1949 . The following year he won the silver medal with the relay at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Lake Placid and also achieved sixth place over 18 km. In 1952 he won again at the Svenska Skidspelen over 18 km and came in third place over 18 km in the Lahti Ski Games. The following year he won the 50 km run at Svenska Skidspelen and took third place over 18 km. At the Lahti Ski Games he ran in March 1953 in second place over 50 km. At Finnish championships he won over 15 km in 1949 and over 50 km in 1952 and 1953.
