use

In 1989, the “Villa Fuchs” cultural center was housed in the manor house of the former Fuchs cigarette factory on Bahnhofstrasse in Merzig. Since then it has served as the cultural center of the Merzig-Wadern district ; their status is that of a registered association (eV). The task of the Villa Fuchs is to carry out cultural events of all kinds in the towns and communities of the district and thus to set cultural impulses. It sees itself as the engine of the cultural scene in the Merzig-Wadern district. The chairman of the center was Günter Mann until his death (2016), managing director Johannes Dostert died on March 26, 2016.

After the Villa Fuchs cultural center had worked with the city of Merzig for several years, the CDU applied in 2008 to hand over the task of creating and implementing the city's cultural program to Villa Fuchs. The culture committee of the Merzig City Council unanimously approved this application.
