Villa Pereira
The Villa Pereira (also: Altenberg Castle ) in the north-east of the Lower Austrian village of Wölker (municipality of St. Andrä-Wölker , Greifensteiner Straße No. 156) is an early historical building with Byzantine shapes that was built between 1846 and 1849 .
The two-storey building has an almost square floor plan and consists of staggered, cubic construction elements. The central projection is three-storey and designed like a donjon with corner turrets.
The villa on the hillside above the Donauauen was designed by the architect Ludwig Förster with the help of Theophil von Hansen . The builder was the owner of the Königstetten estate and banker Louis Freiherr von Pereira-Arnstein (1803-1858), son of the Viennese Salonnière Henriette von Pereira-Arnstein and grandson of Fanny von Arnstein .
